Since
it moved to King's Cross this congregation has grown and developed,
now approaching 200 for its service on Sundays at 1 pm. It has a
choir, a youth group, a Sunday School, and Bible studies in church,
in houses and restaurants. Services are in Cantonese and Mandarin
- with translation when there are the periodic joint services with
the English congregation. A quarterly newspaper 'Blessed News' has
a print-run of 3000 copies, and is distributed free in Chinatown.
The congregation has a particular ministry of welcome, whether to
students new to Britain and London, to people visiting London, or
to asylum-seekers and refugees from China. At its heart is the desire
that people should know the love of Jesus and find new life with
Jesus as Lord.
The
congregation has close links with its sister congregation at Epsom
Methodist Church, and together they resource a growing number of
new congregations - in Newcastle and Middlesborough, in Derby and
Norwich, in Gillingham and Hastings.
