Student? New to London?

West London Mission provides a focus for Christians of many nationalities. Rooted in a Methodist tradition, you will find opportunities for friendship, reflection and social action as well as worship.

Each Sunday:

11:00am Morning Worship (A full service with an all-age congregation)

6:30pm Evening Worship (A more informal service, with a social gathering afterwards)

Kings Cross Methodist Church

Crestfield Street and Birkenhead Street, London, WC1H 8BW

Each Sunday:

10:30am International Congregation (Crestfield Street Entrance)
An English language service, followed by a shared meal once a month

11:00am Worship in Mandarin/Putonghua (Birkenhead Street Entrance)
A full service with an all-age congregation

1:00pm Worship in Cantonese (Birkenhead Street Entrance)
A full service with an all-age congregation

There are also services on some weeks at 1:00pm intended for British born Chinese, conducted in English in the Crestfield Street chapel. See the church website for more details.

Accommodation

The West London Mission also provides accommodation for students and young people.

Methodist Chaplaincy House

Methodist Chaplaincy House provides self-catering "accommodation plus" for 26 students in Higher Education. It is on the same site as the Kings Cross Methodist Church, and provides a supportive and welcoming environment with a Chistian ethos. There is a community meal once a month, and social events and dicsussions are organised throughout the year.

Communities at Hinde Street

There are sometimes vacancies to join the two communities at the Hinde Street Methodist Church. Each community consists of young people of both sexes, and the accommodation available consists of single rooms within well-appointed flats at reasonable rents. Community members make a commitment to church life at Hinde Street and to life in community with one another.

Fellowship and Volunteering

HindeYAG
HindeYAG is the Young Adults' Group at Hinde Street Methodist Church. It organises a range of events including talks, film screenings, quizzes, concert or theatre trips, all in the context of fellowship with like-minded young Christians. You can find out more information on the blog, contact the group by email or email Miriam

Volunteering with West London Day Centre
West London Mission has some of the most extensive social work of any network of churches in London. This means that there is scope for volunteering particularly with homeless people. Follow the links for further information.

Volunteering
During the winter months Hinde Street and Kings Cross Methodist Churches provide a night shelter for those are street homeless. There are many and varied opportunities for volunteering to enable this provision. Watch this space for more information.
