Who we are
The West London Mission (WLM) is a Circuit of the Methodist Church.
WLM has two city-centre churches at Hinde Street in Marylebone and King’s Cross, and three Circuit mission projects. Each of the churches engages in worship, learning and caring, service and evangelism in ways that reflect Methodist tradition and their distinctive identity, history and context.
The circuit mission projects are professional Social Work, a student community at Methodist Chaplaincy House at King’s Cross and work with students and young adults based in both churches. These projects are expressions of our historic roots and the current convictions of Hinde Street and Kings Cross churches.
Our Social Work with homeless and marginalised people
The West London Mission has been serving homeless and marginalised for 126 years. We have developed a range of innovative projects which support and empower some of the most vulnerable people in London. The Social Work is overseen by the Executive Director, Jon Kuhrt.
King's Cross Methodist Church
The Chinese congregations at King’s Cross have services in Cantonese, Mandarin and English. They work with asylum seekers and refugees, offering services such as language classes, legal advice and translation. The smaller English language congregation at King’s Cross offers an intimate worship space, and also provides a night shelter for homeless people and a meeting place for women working on the streets.
Hinde Street Methodist Church
Hinde Street is a lively and inclusive church, a welcoming community of faith and music, engaging preaching, radical thinking and social justice.
