Statement from Roger Clark, CEO WLM
In August 2019 the Care Quality Commission (CQC) undertook an inspection of our service, WLM The Haven, and identified that the project ‘Needs Improvement’ through their rating system. Since that time WLM has worked closely with the CQC over the last 2 years to try and improve all aspects of the service. This has included engaging care home consultants, restructuring the staff team, introducing a new management team, bringing in new policies, clinical procedures and new organisation systems.
However further inspections from the CQC in February & July 2021 outlined that the service was unable to respond to the extensive regulatory requirements needed and WLM was notified in August 2021 that WLM The Haven would be deregistered.
Therefore, it is with great sadness that WLM has to close the current service at WLM The Haven. We will be working closely with the local authorities responsible for residents to support their move ons by mid-September2021. The organisation would like to thank all staff, volunteers, residents and partner organisations involved in WLM The Haven over its lifetime.
