Money Matters courses Money Matters helps you get more confident at managing your money, finding good deals and making a budget which works. It’s also about helping us understand our feelings around money and helps with stress and anxiety. We look at: Shopping and supermarket tricks Budgeting Understanding credit and debt Saving money on fuel bills Getting better at talking about money Money Champions courses This shorter course gives solid information about what to do if you are worrying about money – information you can share with friends, neighbour and family. You will learn how to cut costs fast and where to get help if you are struggling with money or in a debt crisis. We look at: Causes of debt Top tips for cutting bills Spotting the signs someone is struggling with money worries Local and national debt agencies Social Media Safety courses This course helps learners to understand the risks of being online on social media, sharing information safe and fake news as well as looking at different social media platforms. We give useful advice about what to do if you have a concern and how to get back in control. Through this course we cover digital footprint, fact checking & critical thinking, social media settings, healthy boundaries & screen time, age appropriate controls, difficult conversations & family agreements and what to do in a crisis. Scambusters courses This course equips learners to protect themselves from the scourge of scams which have exploded during the pandemic. It will cover how to spot scams, from catfishing to fake courier texts, how to protect personal information and keep safe online and what to do if you are affected. We help learners become more confident through practical activities and creating a personal action plan to be safer online. Get Connected courses This course empowers learners to gain the digital skills needed to connect safely online and to build confidence using the internet. You might have questions about how to set up social media accounts, use different apps or improve you skills with email, organizes Using tools such as WhatsApp, Gmail or Zoom you can improve you social or family ties, get better access to support networks and get new interest hobbies. Through practical activities we will set up accounts, compare platforms and practice using them effectively and safely in a friendly, fun environment. *The courses are mainly for Lambeth residents and are free for people on certain benefits or earning less than the London living wage, with a small fee for anyone else. They’re funded by the GLA and Lambeth Adult Learning Service.
