Position available: Night Support Worker

Salary range: £22,646 to £23,411 (NJC Points 4 to 6) inclusive of London Weighting (Subject to Job Evaluation)

We currently work in Lambeth, Southwark, Westminster and Islington providing a range of services including supported accommodation for ex-military personnel, a dual-diagnosis residential care home for men, an approved premise for men released from prison, advice and support for people experiencing homelessness, affordable and accessible counselling in the community, and financial resilience services.

WLM Katherine Price Hughes House (KPH) is an Independent Approved Premises commissioned by the Ministry of Justice. Approved Premises (APs) provide an enhanced level of supervision, monitoring and rehabilitation for those released from prison. The post requires experience of working with vulnerable people and an understanding of residential setting.

The aim of WLM KPH is to provide every resident with a transforming experience which brings together an awareness of risk reduction, organised and effective rehabilitation into the community, and personal growth and motivation. WLM KPH aims to provide a residential placement which operates to Enabling Environment Standards which provide a flexible and adaptable framework to support improved relationships and well-being for all.


The main purpose of the Night Support Worker is to provide waking night cover to work with residents and staff to provide a safe, secure environment. The Night Support Worker must be a creative and self-motivated individual who is willing to provide support to men who have complex behaviours and needs.

The Night Support Worker is to contribute to the supervision of service users within prescribed policy and practice by monitoring residents and recording accurately on logs and databases. Night Support Workers will also work to promote people’s equality, diversity and rights, and assist in creating a healthy, safe and effective day to day environment, and will assist in the provision of care and supervision to residents 24 hours a day.

The Night Support Worker must adhere to the policies in respect of the confidential nature of the information access whilst working in this position. Candidates must be able to work a shift rota that will include working at weekends and Bank Holidays.
