Our mission We empower people affected by homelessness, poverty and trauma to make positive changes in their lives. Our Values WLM has an inclusive Christian ethos and is committed to offering our services to all people regardless of their belief. Our values are rooted in this ethos. We are firmly committed to embodying these values in our work: Empowering others: We support and challenge people to take personal responsibility for themselves and lead fulfilling lives. Treating people equally: We affirm the worth of every person and we seek to ensure that all of our services are free of discrimination or prejudice. Being transparent: While maintaining appropriate confidentiality, we are honest in the way we work and seek to build trust with everyone we work with. Committed to excellence: We want all our staff and volunteers to be committed to the best quality of professional practice possible. Continual transformation: As we empower others we are committed to the continual improvement of our services and our own individual practice. Mission statement WLM is proud of its Christian roots and history, and excited and energised by the future. For over 130 years WLM has put its faith into action by enabling transformative care and support to people affected by homelessness, poverty and trauma. We are proud to be an independent and inclusive Christian charity. We have faced significant challenges and will face more in the difficult environment in which we work. But by embracing innovative ways of working and communicating, we can continue to create opportunities to help people thrive. We will continue to draw resources from our roots, strengthen our common purpose and focus on those we work with. We will grow by developing more partnerships, ensuring all our services feel part of the WLM family and investing more in communicating our work and valuing our supports.
